Categories |

Best Film
Patrick
Clarke (Producer)
"We
had lofty ambitions. We wanted this to look like a big budget film and
I think we succeeded with that". |
 |
Best Director
Graham Cantwell
"It was a
huge challenge to film such an ambitious project with minimal
resources. I am very proud of what we achieved". |
 |
Best Script
Anthony Fox
"The whole
idea came from this fascination I had growing up with some of my
neighbours who were farmers by day and gunmen by night". |
 |
Best Cinematography
Fergal O Hanlon
"We achieved
a lot in
camera. It gives you great confidence to be able to look at an image on
set that is quite close to what the finished product will look like". |
 |
Best Actor
Anthony Fox
"We worked
our arses off. We kept it truthful and said we're just gonna make this
film as best we can with what we got, and that's what we did". |
 |
Best Actress
Laura Way
"You look at
the film and its quite dramatic, but you wouldn't realise the amount of
fun we had making it. It still has been my best filmmaking experience
to date". |
 |
Best Supporting Actor
Gerard McSorley
"What
attracted me to the film was the quality of the writing. Its
great to play that kind of darkness and complexity in a character". |
 |
Best Supporting Actress
Rachel Rath
"Everyone
who worked on the film gave everything. From the runners to the lead
cast to
the producers, the cinematographer and director, everyone, and I think
it really shows". |
 |
Best Score
Anna Rice
"Wrapping
the City of Prague
Philharmonic orchestra around the uniquely ethereal vocals of artist
Íse made for a wonderful and memorable scoring experience.". |
 |
Best Production Design
Graham Williams
"We had a
lot of fun under very difficult circumstances. There were a lot of
locations and with a period 70s setting we had to pull out all the
stops to carry it off". |
 |
Best Hair & Makeup
Lynn Fletcher
"With so
many different
actors and so many gaps in filming it was a great challenge to maintain
consistency over the course of the shoot". |
 |
Best Costume Design
Aisling Hamill
"Working
with a limited budget we had to be very creative when recreating the
clothing of the 1970s. I'm very happy with the end result".
|
 |
Best Sound Design
Keith Alexander
"It was a
film that offered a lot of possibilities. When we looked at it we felt
that this was something we could bring a lot to, that we could put our
individual
stamp on". |
 |
Best Sound Editing
Ciaran Mulligan
"The film
gave us a chance to work on really difficult scenes and build them up
from the ground into something that you really felt you were part of". |
 |
Best Editing
Breege Rowley
"There are
so many ways a film can be cut together. The important thing
is to find the version that will be put before an audience". |

"Beautifully directed. Impressive cinematography
and a heartbreaking score." **** The

"A
powerful thriller that covers the turmoil of the recent civil
unrest in
the North with originality and gusto
that has much to do with the
writing, directing and acting of a sterling cast." The Irish Examiner

"Strikingly shot. Gerard McSorley is excellent and
Laura Way does a stellar job." Bigscreen.ie
“
A confident debut feature. Commendably unpredictable. Fox immerses
himself in the title role with unstinting commitment,
and McSorley
invests characteristic authority in the role of the dogged detective on
his trail.” The
Irish Times

thriller with a cast of top-notch Irish acting talent -
sure to inspire Irish film-makers (and film goers) for years to come" Dublinks.com
