Synopsis
Anton O'Neill is inspired by true events. After spending time at sea, Anton returns to find that Ireland is a radically different place from the one he left behind. Northern Ireland is engulfed in flames, and civil unrest has spilled south of the border into his beloved County Cavan. Blinded by hatred and misguided patriotism, Anton is drawn into an illicit world of violence, forced to choose between his family and his country. Hunted and on the run, he faces a shocking battle of wills with the law and his former accomplices, culminating in an explosive showdown where he must risk everything to protect the woman he loves. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:
Laura Colella (Director) has written and directed three features: the Independent Spirit Award-winner Breakfast with Curtis, Stay Until Tomorrow, and Tax Day. Her shorts include Statuary, The Flying Electric, and Chryskylodon Blues, filmed behind-the-scenes on the set of Paul Thomas Anderson's Inherent Vice. Her films have screened at well over 100 festivals internationally, winning over 25 awards. Breakfast with Curtis was named one of the top ten films of the last decade by Barbara Scharres on RogerEbert.com. She has been a Sundance Directing Fellow, a Film Independent Fellow, a Bogliasco Fellow, and one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces in Independent Film.
